The 7th Ward Harrisburg: A Mid-Century History of African American Life

Historic Harrisburg Association Presents:

Join us for a multi-generational view of Harrisburg’s 7thWard!

Shippensburg Grad student, Kristian Carter’s has prepared a multi-media presentation based on research and local interviews.  Calobe Jackson, local historian and former owner of “Jack’s Hotel” (pictured bottom left) will help us to explore the landmarks, businesses and entrepreneurs that thrived during segregation, while  Ryan Sanders of Vice Capital, new owners of the Jackson House, will be offering a glimpse into the what the future has in store for this reinvented business district.
