The Midtown Pop-Up Event, an idea initiated and co-chaired by H. Ralph Vartan, is a Pop-Up theme party presented in the ornate 1929 Central Trust Company bankers hall, currently the Historic Harrisburg Resource Center. Since 2017, this event has been hosted by the Historic Harrisburg Association with support from the Vartan Group. For its first three years as the “Midtown Pop-Up Speakeasy,” it featured vintage dance music, period costumes, casino gaming tables, and period cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, successfully attracting a young and vibrant audience.
