On Sunday, September 12th, the Historic Harrisburg Association will join 18 other venues for the 33rd Annual Gallery Walk, a city-wide, free tour of diverse exhibition venues from Shipoke to Midtown Harrisburg.
This year, HHA’s exhibit features “Harrisburg Heritage Highlights Through the Decades” and will host a special book signing by local historian and author Rodney J. Ross, whose new book, “Harrisburg in World War II,” chronicles homefront activities in the capital city such as rationing, civil defense measures, scrap drives, bond drives featuring Hollywood celebrities and USO-sponsored canteens at Der Harrisburg Maennerchor and the PA Railroad Station.
