The Historic Harrisburg Association (HHA) will raise a toast in 2024 to the Zembo Shrine, the spectacular architectural landmark in Uptown Harrisburg that this year has been added to the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
The 2024 Preservation Celebration and “A Toast to Zembo Shrine!” will take place at the Zembo Shrine on Friday, May 17, from 6:00 to 9:00PM in multiple areas of the ornate and exquisitely decorated Moorish-revival-style landmark designed in 1928 by celebrated architect Charles Howard Lloyd. A gala reception for members, friends, and supporters of HHA will include a celebratory champagne “Toast to the Zembo Shrine,” heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction. Attendees of “The Toast” will be able to take periodic guided tours of this newly listed National Register historic landmark.
Zembo Shriners are well known for their love of fun, fellowship, and philanthropy. For nearly 100 years, their famous headquarters overlooking Italian Lake has hosted circuses, live music performances, ceremonies, and other attractions, gaining renown as one of South-Central Pennsylvania’s premier event spaces.
Registration is now available; please use Eventbrite to arrange Host Committee or Patron participation, and Guest tickets.
