Accomplishments

• Developed Walking Tours and continues to showcase the best of urban living through annual Holiday Candlelight House Tour and walking tours
• Provided management of the Broad Street Market
• Established and continued development of the Community Historic Preservation Fund, which distributes cash grants for worthy historic preservation projects in Harrisburg
• Developed and continued to sponsor Annual National Preservation Week events locally
• Led efforts to support establishment of Historic Districts in the city. These districts have helped improve property values and the quality of life in and around them
• Preserved the Historic Harrisburg Resource Center as the association's headquarters.

History
Since 1973, long before other significant efforts to save and revitalize the city, a small group of citizens united -- following the flood of 1972 and the demolition of several irreplaceable landmarks -- to ensure the survival of our architectural heritage and to preserve both individual structures of importance and the cohesiveness and character of existing neighborhoods.

As a member, you can ensure continued revitalization of Harrisburg by balancing economic development with historic preservation.
